CGPA to Percentage Calculator
Turn your CGPA into a percentage using the formula on your grade card, go from a percentage back to CGPA, or combine your semester SGPAs. Made for students in India, where our programming help is a favourite.
Converting your CGPA
- Pick CGPA to %, % to CGPA, or SGPA to CGPA.
- Select the formula printed on your grade card or university circular, or enter your own.
- Type in your CGPA, percentage or semester SGPAs.
- If you like, add a required percentage, such as a placement cut-off, to see how far off you are.
Turning CGPA into a percentage
India has no single national conversion. CBSE publishes CGPA × 9.5 for its 10-point grades, which is why 9.5 is the multiplier most people reach for. Many universities publish their own, often (CGPA − a deduction) × 10, and print it on the grade card.
Use the formula your university gives. Employers and admissions teams generally go by the conversion on your marks card or a university certificate, which is why the calculator always shows which formula it applied.
From SGPA to CGPA
SGPA is your grade point average for a single semester; CGPA brings all semesters together. In the credit-based system most universities use, each semester's SGPA is weighted by its credits.
Enter the credits for each semester to get a credit-weighted CGPA. Leave them out and you get a simple average, which equals the weighted figure only if every semester carries the same credits.
Cut-offs for placements and admissions
Recruiters and postgraduate courses often ask for a minimum percentage, 60% being common. Enter that cut-off to see where you stand under your university's formula.
If you're just short, the projects and assignments still to come can lift your CGPA. Our Python help and programming help are designed for engineering and IT students.
